ABOUT
Sophia’s teaching methodology is rooted in a diverse artistic background and a wide range of professional experiences. She draws on techniques from her classical fine art training in Venice, conceptual art studies in Barcelona, and her own practice as a sculptor. For over a decade, she has worked as a professional prop maker, creative fabricator, and sculptor for the film industry, museums, and established artists.
In recent years, her interest in clay as a therapeutic medium has deepened. A former Rudolf Steiner pupil and the daughter of a curative eurythmist with over thirty years of practice, Sophia’s wellbeing workshops are informed by anthroposophical principles. These teachings emphasise a holistic approach to nurturing mind and body, supporting personal growth through embodied, creative practice.
“I have experienced firsthand—and witnessed in others—how tactile, repetitive making can support both mental and physical wellbeing. My aim is to support those who struggle with concentration, focus, and anxiety by using clay as a form of moving meditation. Through grounding, rhythm, and material engagement, participants are encouraged to relax and enter a state of flow.
My work has given me great purpose and joy. Working with my hands and solving problems through materials has been both an escapism and a way to connect with others. I want to share that experience. Art-making is for everyone—so roll up your sleeves and join me.”

Clay is a versatile, non-toxic, responsive material. It comes from the earth; touching and shaping it provides a grounding sensory experience. Its malleability and capacity to hold marks mean each imprint and gesture is meaningful and personal. It allows us to listen, sense, and shape from within, transforming without words. Therapeutic clay work is not just about making objects; it's about presence and connecting with your inner self.
